The Headcannon Sheet of William Strife

Description

Well, originally I was going to put all my Xephos and William Strife headcannon stuff together in one image. But I went a tiny bit OTT with the headcannon stuff, and may have accidently turned them into what are essentially short (ish) storys. And if I posted it all together it would make the description of the image stupidly long. So I thought Hey, I know, I'll make fancy headcannon sheets like I did with NilesyAnd so this happened. If you want to properly understand what is going on with the different apperances and such. Then keep reading. I'm affraid it is quite long. But I worked hard on it so it would mean a lot to me if you read it. More about the Xektaran's(Coming up with an alien sounding name is really hard >< ) as a species will appear at some point, I've already started writing it. I'll list different traits as well and things like that. But for now, you'll just have to cope with what I've got in these headcannon sheets and things :P
Ignore the weird shading thing I had a go at on the full body image at the top. It was just an experiment that I thought looked decent. So I kept it. May or may not use it again. We'll see ><

The pictures at the top include a full body shot, since I haven't drawn Will like that yet, a headshot, and his special necklance (which is explained in the stuff below, so yeah. I didn't mean to cut off Will's hooves on the bottom picture, I just ran out of space on my paper and couldn't be asked to redraw the image, you can still see one of his hooves though, so it's not too much of an issue.

Anyway.

Long headcannons incoming! Woo!

Childhood --> Arrival on Minecraftia

Wiloka Strife was born into a bit of a mixed family. His father was from a lower class upbringing, whilst his mother was from a much wealthier background. An only child, he grew up in a middle-class area with his parents, and had very little interaction with his maternal grandparents, who had no interest in their son-in-law, and didn't care for the child their daughter had bore him, that would change in the future though.

Wil had a slightly peculiar childhood. He enjoyed school and loved learning. And for a while, he had lots of friends and was very popular. But as he grew older, his intelligence became more and more pronounced. And at the tender age of six he was already miles ahead of the other children in his class. Gradually, this separated him from the others. And he became incredibly introverted and closed-off. More focused on studying than maintaining friendships.

By the time he was twelve. His incredible intelligence in a variety of subjects gained him a full scholarship at one of the best schools in the country. His parents wouldn't be able to afford such an education otherwise, so leapt at the chance for their son to have the best schooling possible. This was when his mothers parents started to show interest in their grandson..

Wil loved that school. He thrived there. Taking science, magic, business and universal language courses as well as the compulsory stuff. He passed each with flying colours at the top of the class. He still lived a rather solitary life though. And didn't really have many friends, aside from a few other high achievers, that he got along with purely because he could have - what he considered - intelligent conversation with them.

When he left school he almost immediately joined the armed forces, though not by choice. He wanted to pursue a career in business. He didn't give a damn about the planets various wars and squabbles. But he couldn't get out of joining up.

Thankfully he wouldn't be sent to a battlefield though. Instead, he was sent to a research facility to help develop new space craft using his technological and magical genius.

This is where he met a young Xephos. Assigned to work together on a project. Wil wasn't keen at first. And he tried to remain the dominate one in the partnership, as he believe that was the only way things would get done. But Xephos' natural leadership skills surpassed Wil's own, and he quickly found that the older Xektaran was actually quite intelligent, if not a little hot-headed when he didn't get his way. They managed to work well together though. And became very good friends. When they finished working together, Wil ended up owing Xephos a favour that would result in him meeting a very particular Blood Mage later in life..

Whilst he would never admit it. Wil was devastated when the ship Xephos left Xekta on was reported missing, and that the crew were probably dead. Xephos was one of the only true friends he had, and losing him hurt in a way he couldn't quite figure out. This made their reunion on Minecraftia many years later, even more incredible.

Wil left the space agency where he'd worked with Xephos very soon after the latter's 'death'. And instead focused on his business career. This went fairly well, and before long he'd ventured all across the star system on various inquiries. But this was never enough for him. He wanted his business to get bigger, for him to travel further afield. And, gradually, this became a possibility. But it took a very long time. It was nearly ten years before he embarked on the trip that would lead him to Minecraftia.

Wil hadn't intended to land on the planet. But after arriving in it's star system he realised that it could be worth giving it a look. They scanned the planet, found that it was possible to survive down there without too much hassle, that there was a local intelligent species, but that settlements were sparse and could easily be avoided, and that the planet was rich with valuables, and so they beamed Wil down onto the surface. All was well at first. But less than ten Minecraftian minutes after he'd arrived, someone on the ship decided they needed a holiday, and promptly left, leaving Wil stranded. He had no choice but to adapt to this new world and settle in for a while.

He found it very easy to learn how Minecrafita worked. And it didn't take very long for him start to feel fairly comfortable there, and he soon fell into a routine. The fact that he was completely alone in the jungle didn't bother him so much, if anything he preferred it to the busy cities of back home. What he didn't know, was that he was being watched by a native right from the very start.

After about two weeks, he was finally approached by his stalker whilst out in the jungle looking for materiels. It was then that he realised how different they looked to the Xektaran's. This strange looking local was much taller than Wil was and power seemed to radiate from them. Instantly making him uneasy.

"So, how long do you intend to stay here?"
"Who said that?!"
"I did. And you speak Minecraftian, which is quite impressive."
"Translators. Simple tech. What do you want?"
"Maybe not so impressive then. Hm. I wanted to know why you came here? Care to tell?"
"Business."
"Your ship left you."
"I know.. I saw.. How long have you been watching me?"
"Ever since you set hoof here. How long are you going to be here?"
"Until they come back for me.."
"So a while then."
"Probably, yes."
"Why are you out here on your own? You should go into town, make some friends. Then again.. You'd stand out a little.. Hmm. I feel like I've met someone like you before.."
"It's unlikely. My kind very rarely visit this part of the galaxy."
"No. I have. I'm sure of it. Hmm. Oh well. It'll come to me later. What's you're name? I feel like I should know your name if nothing else."
".. Wiloka Strife. Who are you?"
"Wiloka? Hmm. Does 'strife' mean the same in your language as it does in mine?"
"What is your name?"
"KirinDave. Call me Kirin."

Their conversation lasted longer than Wil would have liked, and the strange pony before him wouldn't stop asking questions. Eventually though, 'Kirin' offered to help Wil with something. Being able to blend in around Minecraftians without standing out as an outsider. He explained that he could enchant something to disguise the Xektaran as a Minecraftian. And, whilst he was hesitant at first, Wil eventually accepted, handing over the chain with his family symbol engraved into the pendant.

When he put the chain back on after the spell had been cast, his form shimmered into something much more Minecraftian, aside from a few traits that left hints of him not being a local, he did indeed look like someone of this world. He could also speak Minecraftian without the aid of translators, which was quite useful. His family symbol had vanished though, and this troubled him.

"Where's my symbol gone?"
"That fancy mark? Oh, it's still there, it's just turned the same colour as your coat. Find something you're good at and a new mark will appear there when you're in this form. You'll fit in even more with one of those. And you're native mark might show through it too, I don't know."
"Right.."

Kirin directed Wil towards the nearby town of Chaosville. Though Wil refused to be lead there, and insisted he was capable of making the trip himself. Before he was allowed to head off though. Kirin spoke to him one last time.

"You know how you could fit in even more?"
"How?"
"Change your name."
"What? No!"
"What about William? Similar to your real name and you can shorten it to Will, so it'll almost be as if you hadn't changed it."
"How did you know I shortened my name to Wil?"
"Lucky guess. Wiloka is a bit of a mouthful."
"Cheers.. I'll be leaving now. If you don't mind."
"Of course. Enjoy your stay, William Strife. I hope that we get to meet again someday."

Kirin left after that, and Will didn't see him for quite a while. But he wasn't fussed.
When he arrived in the small town, he wasn't really sure what to expect. It was quiet and simple and nothing like the cities and towns he'd visited back on Xekta. He wasn't interested in making friends, if anything he just wanted to know what the settlements of this world were like. The place almost seemed deserted, the last thing he expected was to encounter someone he already knew.
But he did. And he'd never been happier.

Neither of them quite recognised each other at first, after all, they didn't look the same as they did when they'd last seen one another. But as soon as they figured it out, they were both ecstatic - though it was more noticeable on Xephos than on Will. The rest of the day was spent talking about Xephos' adventures on Minecraftia and Will's progression with his business career, and how that had resulted in him being stranded here. As well as Honeydew, who had been present when the two found each other, bombarding them with questions about how they knew each other and what they had got up to before Xephos ended up on Minecraftia. It was certainly an interesting day to say the least.

What Will hadn't expected from being reunited with Xephos. Was that a few weeks later, a young earth pony stallion who he'd never met, arrived at his house, saying that Xephos had sent him to stay with Will for a while. Will wasn't keen at first, but he couldn't send him away, and that stallion would continue to be a pain in Will's side for a long time. He learnt to love it though, not that he'd ever admit that to anyone..

Other Stuff

William is a successful business pony who's main goal is to expand his business, Strife Solutions. Even whilst on Minecraftia that's what he strives towards. And when he's left to his own devices he manages it very well. But when he's in the company of a certain Alexander Parvis, things tend to move a lot slower. Mostly just because he's constantly trying to keep the Blood Mage from accidentally summoning a demon and killing everyone. At first Will hated having Parvis around, but eventually he started to almost enjoy the other ponies presence, and now he doesn't really care so much about him being there. Though that doesn't stop Will from getting very annoyed with him sometimes.

Generally, Will is a fairly easy-going guy who just wants to get his work done. He's a skilled fighter and quick-thinker and is good at staying calm in a serious situation, though he can be a little jumpy at times. He's usually very persuasive, and good at getting what he wants, though he always seems to fail at this with around Parvis. He can be a little too stubborn for his own good sometimes. But other than that, he's a relatively kind and decent pony, though perhaps not as compassionate as some think he should be.

He figured out how Minecraftia worked very quickly, leading him to know his way better than some of the natives do. And, resulting in Parvis to think that Will has all the answers, when there are some things that even he doesn't know.

Will is very secretive about himself. In that nearly nobody knows where he's from, what he really looks like or that he's even from another planet in the first place. Almost no one even knows what his real name is. He hides the necklace that keeps him looking Minecraftian under his shirt so that nopony questions it and only ever takes it off when he knows that he's completely alone. The only reason Parvis has seen him in his natural form is because he once barged in on his friend in the middle of the night when Will had been sleeping. The resulting confrontation was long and complicated and it took much longer than it should of done for Will to properly explain why he could change what he looked like. He really doesn't care if others point out that his eyes glow, and tends to just ignore it or shrug it off as some kind of magical thing that won't go away. The scars on his forelegs don't bother him too much either, though he doesn't like ponies asking about it as it brings back memories he'd rather forget, which is why he usually wears long sleeved shirts. When someone who he is willing to tell asks though, he'll simply say that 'for such an advanced race, Xektaran's are stupidly inept in how to raise children. And even if you're not going to battle you still get put through life-threatening military training..'

Whilst most of the time he prefers being on Minecraftia, on occasion, he'll start to wonder what's happening back on Xekta. He enjoys star-gazing and has, once or twice, managed to find his home star-system and even Xekta itself through his telescope, though it's not visible from Minecraftia very often. When he showed Lalna, the scientist found it quite spectacular to think that one of his best friends was from somewhere so far away. He also showed Parvis, who thought it was pretty cool. And he once managed to show Xephos when the other Xektaran was feeling a bit lost, and it cheered him up to at least be able to see his home-world, even if he could never go back. Will often talks to himself in Xektarian whilst's he's working. Parvis has tried to pick up phrases from him but with little success. Will likes having conversations with Xephos in Xektarian, purely because they can talk about anything and not have to worry about anyone else overhearing.

Notes
-I decided on making 'William' an alias as I thought that it didn't seem like a very alien name. So I played around a bit and managed to come up with something similar that did sound a bit alien. Hence why his 'real' name is Wiloka, and when it's that name that is shortened, it's 'Wil', not 'Will'. I will still refer to him as William though :P
-I'm not sure how Xektarian sounds when it's spoken, but let's just say it's very different to English/Minecraftian. It's written in a similar manner to English, but is pronounced differently, if that makes sense >< When it comes to names, the language is spoken similary to how names are spoken in languages like Japanese, in that the surname comes first. I only did this in an attempt to be clever and use 'bluexephos' as Xephos' full name. I thought I better use it for Strife too or suffer inconsistency ><

Congrats! You made it to the end! Here, have a gingerbread manPixel Gingerbread Cookie

That was 2500 words well spent. Originally it wasn't so long Oops. But hey ho. The more the merrier right? ^^;
I wanted to give Xephos and William as much depth as possible, which is why these ended up so long. Oh well, I hope you enjoyed reading it :)

I'm gonna leave this here, 'cos it really is way way too long. And I don't want to make it too much longer.

But yeah, assuming that you've made it this far, I hope you enjoyed all of that, and that you like the pictures :P And please fav and comment :D
